Indigenous Economics Conference

For the first time, Indigenous Climate Action is partnering with the Canadian Society for Ecological Economics to host a 3-day conference for Indigenous Economics: Reclaiming the Sacred. Taking place virtually from June 10-12, 2021, this conference will focus on 4 different themes of achieving a Just Transition to Indigenous-led, land-based, and ecologically-centred environmental action and economies. Despite repeated requests for agreements that ensure inherent Indigenous rights and the protection of the lands and waters, housing developers of Oka, Quebec are pushing ahead with a desire for unfettered real estate development.
